Our Quality Management System runs on the plan-do-check-act cycle, tying together engineering, tooling, production, and inspection into one streamlined workflow.
Our quality approach is built toprevent defectsfrom happening, not just catch them after the fact. Every production run starts with verified setup procedures and follows defined in-process checks, including:
Tooling quality drives part quality, plain and simple. Our approach to tooling and equipment is built to hold repeatable tolerances across every production run:

We can manufacture medical and laboratory parts, and we have produced solenoid valve housings for a US medical device programme. Balford holds no medical certification (we are not ISO 13485 certified): we ask customers to give us the opportunity on a project basis, and to keep cleanliness and precision requirements within the range a stamping and deep drawing shop can hold. Where a requirement is tighter than that, we say so before quoting.
For connector shells, battery casings, and EMI shields, we maintain tight wall-thickness tolerances and surface quality to meet the requirements of electronic applications.
We can manufacture aerospace parts where the drawing suits our process, and we have supplied a housing for a Boeing programme through RBC. Balford holds no AS9100 certification and does not routinely machine titanium or nickel superalloys: we ask customers to give us the opportunity, and to keep cleanliness and precision requirements realistic for a general metal forming shop. Where they are not, we say so before quoting.
