Balford manufactures precision stamped metal washers in stainless steel, brass, carbon steel, aluminium and copper — flat, precision and special-shape washers with controlled tolerances.
Precision stamped flat washers in steel, stainless and brass with controlled OD/ID and thickness.
65Mn spring-steel shim blanks with tight flatness for adjustment and spacing.
Duralumin and metal washers for valve retainers, ESC/ABS solenoid assemblies and more.
Washers are among the highest-volume stamped parts Balford produces: flat washers, precision washers, spring-steel shims and special-shape washers in steel, stainless, brass, aluminium and copper, with controlled flatness, burr and OD/ID tolerances.
Real projects from Balford's production history:
Short answer: A washer is fine blanked when flatness, edge condition and thickness all affect the assembly: shims, spring seats, valve retainers and preload washers. It is conventionally stamped when the edge is cosmetic and the part is a simple flat ring in high volume, and machined when the section is thick, the faces need parallelism a press cannot hold, or the part carries a step or groove. Zhejiang Balford Mechatronics Co., Ltd. runs fine blanking and conventional stamping on 25–350 t presses with in-house tooling, in stainless, carbon steel, spring steel, brass, copper and aluminium, and quotes 0.01 mm only on selected critical machined features confirmed from the drawing. The drawing also has to fix the burr direction and the measurement position: a burr on a sealing face becomes a leak path, and a flatness call-out without a datum cannot be inspected the same way by two suppliers.

The route follows the function, not the part name: a washer that only spaces a bracket and a washer that sets a preload can look identical on a drawing and belong on two different tools.
Flat washers, precision washers, spring-steel shims and special-shape washers in steel, stainless steel, brass, aluminium and copper.
Progressive die stamping with tuned die clearance controls flatness and burr; deburring and sorting are available for critical parts.
Progressive die tooling is economical from tens of thousands of parts per year upward; smaller volumes can use simpler tooling.
