The 2023 Zhuji Xishi Marathon kicked off in Zhuji City, Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province. At daybreak, 15,000 runners from home and abroad crossed the start line, weaving through the city square, over Xishi Bridge, and along a course that threads through mountains, lakes, urban streets, and rivers—taking in the city's character with every stride.

The 2023 Zhuji Xishi Marathon course. According to event reports, the race featured three categories: full marathon, half marathon, and a fun run, with 15,000 total participants. The oldest runner on the course was 84 years old.

The full marathon course spans 42.195 kilometers and covers the entire main urban area of Zhuji, with the start and finish at Zhuji City Square. The route is laid out to showcase the city's highlights: along the Puyang River, runners get clear views of the waterfront scenery; through Xishitan and the Xishi Grand Theater—the hometown of Xishi—they pass through layers of local history and culture; and by the Sock Art Town and Zhuji Economic Development Zone, they see firsthand how technological innovation is driving urban growth. Step by step, the marathon doubles as a guided tour of the city.

Balford engineer Xia Qiansong took part in the event as well. It reflects our company's core value: stay the course and get it done.
