In one line
430 is ferritic and magnetic. Where a housing is part of a magnetic circuit - a shield, a flux path or a clamp - the grade is chosen for its magnetic response, not for corrosion resistance.
Published configurations in this grade
9 published configurations use SUS 430, across the denso-heat-shields, injector-egt series. Heights run 17.8-53.6 mm, outer diameters 7.90-19.60 mm, recorded wall thicknesses 0.50, 1.00 mm.

Where 430 belongs
Magnetic shields, flux-path components and heat shields where the part must be magnetic and cost matters. It sits below the 300 series on corrosion resistance and drawability, which is why it is used for shallower or less demanding draws.
What to expect when it is pressed
430 has lower formability and no nickel to keep the austenitic structure ductile; deep parts need a conservative draw schedule and clean tooling. Springback is noticeably different from the austenitic grades.
Checking the magnetic requirement
If the drawing specifies a magnetic response, state the requirement explicitly - grade alone is not a magnetic specification, and heat treatment can change it.
